When I moved west from Ellensburg and started climbing with the Mountaineers it seemed that almost every one I met in other climbing parties would say “Oh, you're from Bellingham. Do you know Bob Kandiko?” Seems like he had been climbing around the Northwest mountains for quite a while.  Well I know him a lot better after spending the past week together in the heart of the North Cascades.  Bob has climbed extensively from here to Denali and is completely at home in the alpine setting.  It was a pleasure climbing with a person so experienced in all aspects of mountaineering.

This was our goal.  A high quality rock climb tucked behind Eldorado Peak

 

First day hike

Hiking over to the land of ice and snow of Eldorado and Inspiration Glaciers.  This was a hard 10 hour 6,500 ft gain to our camp
