Climbing in Red Rocks Canyon

Everyone needs a rest day once in a while and why not clean up
while you're at it.  One of the climber's sister was part of a wedding party at
a hotel in town so off ten of us went escorted by the Northwest's most
renowned mountaineer, Fred Beckey.

 

Though it was a quite different place to clean up at I was very
happy to get back to the campground and look forward to the
next day of climbing

Another friend had come down from Bellingham.  Aaron and I got
an early start to climb Dark Shadows, replete with a small waterfall
and pool at the base of the climb

sometimes it does get crowded on the popular climbs, but with
great people.

Sometimes you just have to put up with crowded conditions, I did my best.

 

The rock was superb and one of the mountain guides, Mark, who was part
of the belay ledge party cracked us up with his New Mexican pachuco humor. 
Aaron almost had to pull me up this pitch I was laughing so hard
