Road trip to Arizona 2006
Though I was thoroughly enjoying my new home at Bellingham Cohousing I had a chunk of time between jobs and I decided to follow a dream and take a road trip to the southwest. I lived in New Mexico 25 years ago and really enjoyed traveling in the southwest in my little toyota land cruiser

The first stop on my trip was at Don Vojtech's home in Nevada
City in the eastern foothills of the Sierras. Don sold me cabinets
for many years when I had my business in Ellensburg. Don
and his family graciously invited me to join them on their Christmas
vacation to the city
(San Francisco of course)

The first day I spent enjoying the beauty of the San Francisco
Museum of Modern Art. What a pleasure to wander this visual feast
in my favorite city in the world

The feature exhibit was
of Chuck Close. An amazing artist from Monroe Washington. His exhibit
boasts 100 color and 50 black-and-white images of Close's dazzling
self-portraits. Highlighting nearly 40 years of Close's work. He
worked with grids to create a facinating art form
